What do you get when you have: sixty cans of vanilla frosting, candy, children, moms, dads, aunts, uncles, sisters, grandmas, grandpas, and friends? The answer is beautiful gingerbread houses and some wonderful memories. The Kindergarten classes at Hickory Bend School, spent the afternoon creating gingerbread houses on Friday, December 14th. Teachers and students reported that you could smell the frosting as you entered the hallways.
Many pounds of candy were used in the process while several pounds were nibbled on by the children. We knick-named the children either Hansel or Gretel because they nibbled at the gingerbread house of the witch. To add to our enjoyment the Hickory Bend Choir came through our classrooms and did some caroling. A sweet thank you to Mrs. Toth who purchased and prepared many of the supplies for the project. Without our holiday helpers we could not have had such a special day. THANKS!
